Journal of a lazy Sunday

Today was one of those great Sundays that set the tone for the week ahead. I was up early to get a few things done for my calling and then, it was off to church to practice our special musical number one last time before Sacrament meeting. I was the second Alto in an octet with a few other friends from the ward and sang a beautiful rendition of "I Need Thee Every Hour," which happens to be my favorite church hymn. We were accompanied by the talented Laura Bryan on the piano and the equally fabulous Cassie McDaniel on the the Viola. I think it went well, at least I hope it went well.

After church I decided it would be a lazy Sunday. I fed my face, caught up on a few friend's lives through the wonderful world of blogging, took a cat nap, read a few chapters in the new book I picked up this weekend, tickled the ivorys for an hour, made some delicious chocolate chip banana bread, and then at sunset I relaxed outside with my puppy and took these photos of my parent's beautiful blooming roses. Sometimes you just need to take time out to "stop and smell the roses."

Your blog always makes me smile. Great writing, awesome/beautiful pictures, your life looks so fun! Yay for a new house with girlfriends, and the game with your Dad. Your parents are so cool. Must be where you get it? :)

Hey, when you have a sec, can you pop over to my blog and walk me through how to do the four-pic cube thingy you do with your photos? I love it and NEED to learn how.

Aubrey, what a perfect Sunday! I am so excited that you found a place in Newport. Definitely let me know when the house warming night is. Can you believe, we've still never had one! soon, though. Also, send me your number because i have a new phone and a lot of numbers got deleted. we need to get together.

Aren't those the best! I love Sundays for that very reason. You're right - it's so good to stop and just enjoy the little things for a while. Yesterday I went to visit a friend in Laguna, and instead of rushing home, I took a scenic drive down PCH to Camino Capistrano, and then took Camino Cap all the way home. I can't even remember the last time I drove for the sake of taking a drive!!! It was delightful!

And your musical number was AMAZING! Well done!
