{ Breakfast On The Beach }

I'm loving my first week of work at Jonathan Adler. The store doesn't actually open until next week, so the NYC staff is down here helping me get the store in order. We've been busy designing and merchandising, which has been so fun! Wednesday morning we had some time to kill before our next furniture delivery, so I took them to breakfast at The Beachcomber in Crystal Cove. And I must say, it was the perfect morning for an omelet and orange juice on the beach. I only wish every morning could start out this way!

:: Rocktober Playlist ::

These songs have been playing over and over and over again on my ipod, my computer, my car stereo, and in my head all month. I might be OCD, but I don't care. I just can't get enough. That being said, I just might have to give it up for tonight so I can get in the mood for tonight's concert at the Greek. The ladies and I are heading up to LA in a few short hours to see Regina Spektor rock the piano and a mic! I'm sure you'll be hearing all about it sooner than later. Anyway, have a listen...

{ Just Around The Corner }

For months I've watched my friends craft their way into the etsy world, while I just sat back and watched. Well, no more excuses. I've finally started working on my very own etsy site and will be unveiling my creations in the coming weeks. And there will be pillows. Lots and lots of pillows!

{ Great Minds... }

We didn't plan this. I promise. My sisters and I all came downstairs, ready to go to dinner at The Club, wearing yellow and stripes. We had a good laugh about it and thought you might get a kick out of it too.

:: Home Sweet Huntington ::

I can't believe it! Just 48 hours later and I'm all moved in to my new place. And loving it I might add! I still wanna paint the walls, sew some draperies, and adjust a few things here and there. But for the most part, I think it's looking pretty good.

I snapped these shots on my iPhone this morning before heading out. They're not the best quality, but they'll have to do for now. And yes, there's a sofa in my room!

{ A Black & White Wedding }

My days at the flower shop in Laguna may be over, but I'm still doing wedding flowers, which I LOVE! Friday evening I met up with the most delightful bride to talk about flower for her big day. Although the wedding isn't until May, she wanted to have all the details planned out and squared away early. I love working with brides who appreciate planning well in advance!

In the hour and a half we spent together I learned a lot about the bride and her personal style. She loves classic weddings with formal black and white everything, she likes a little bling, she has 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen (holy moly!), and she loves stephanotis, anemones, gerbera daisies, and sweet peas! I can not wait to get to work and dream up some beautiful flowers for this May wedding.

{ Hobbins' October Update }

It's October and the house is lookin' good. We've got gorgeous granite slabs, painted cabinets, appliances, glass shower enclosures, lighting and more! This week the painters finish up the bedrooms, the cabinets get dressed up with some hardware, and a hundred other things still on the to-do list. I'm so excited for this project to finish and I'm sure the Hobbins are too!

{ Montage Wedding Mock-Up }

This December my friend Hannah and I will be doing the flowers for a wedding at the gorgeous Montage Resort & Spa in Laguna Beach. In preparation for the event, the bride requested a mock-up of some flowers to choose from for the big day!

In addition to the centerpieces, we'll also be designing 2 altar pieces, 6 bouquets, a ton of boutonnieres, corsages, cocktail arrangements, and 2 aisle pieces for the cliffside wedding. I'll be sure to post the pictures come December. It's going to be a stunning event!

{ Brandon & Coco's Wedding Flowers }

Last month I shared THIS post with you and included a little sneak peak at the flowers I created for Brandon & Nicole's harbor cruise wedding. Here's a few more to enjoy, courtesy of The Digital Orange. Enjoy!

{ Floral Design 101 }

Fellow floral designer Hannah Koo and I had the opportunity to teach a floral arranging class last week to twelve ladies in the "Green Thumb" Club of Laguna Beach. Together we instructed them on the process of preparing flowers, proper care and feeding, and then how to design a simple arrangement of roses, cymbidium orchids, and dahlia. They were all quick learners and had a great time putting together their flowers. If you're interested in hosting a flower arranging workshop feel free to leave a comment.

{ A Classy Wedding }

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of my friend's Bryan & Amber. These two are as classy as they come. Saturday night friends and family joined together at Cucina Nassi, a beautiful reception hall in SLC, to celebrate the happy couple. The night was certainly one to remember: one blushing bride, a charmed groom, extraordinary flowers, a gorgeous chocolate cake, delicious 3 course meal, and not to mention all the girlfriends who flew out to Utah special for the occasion. Such a classy night. Congrats Bryan & Amber Wood. Love you both!!!

{ Sight Seeing In SLC With My Sissy! }

Salt Lake City is so beautiful this time of year! Besides Bryan & Amber's wedding I didn't really hang out with anyone else by my little sister Kellie. It was nice to just spend some time together. Of course we did a little shopping at Gateway, bought matching sunglasses, ate at Costa Vida (much better than Cafe Rio in our opinion), saw Where The Wild Things Are, visited the temple, and more.

I said goodbye to Kellie today as I hopped on a flight home, only to find out she took off work to drive home to California tonight, so I guess we'll have a few more days to play together. Silly girl! Pictures of Bryan & Amber's wedding soon to come...

{ The Wood's Weekend Wedding }

I'm off to Utah to celebrate with my friends Amber Garrett and Bryan Wood as they tie the eternal in the Salt Lake City temple. Did you know it's been almost 3 years since my last visit to the Beehive state? Thank goodness for these two to get me away from the beach and into some cold mountain air for a weekend.

And then when I get back...I'm moving into Amber's old room in Huntington Beach. So exciting! See you all when I get back. Happy weekend!

:: Succulent Centerpieces ::

Tuesday afternoon I received a call from a friend with an urgent request to design 44 centerpieces for an Oaxacan dinner banquet in Rancho Palos Verdes on Saturday. I panicked! Of course I wanted to do it, but would there be time? I knew I'd be teaching a floral design class Friday morning, make a bouquet for a friend's bridal pictures, and THEN put together several mock-up arrangements for a wedding consultation at the Montage Resort in Laguna. Oh, AND not to mention, catch a plane to SLC by 7pm. But I said WHAT THE HECK and accepted the job! And happy I did!

I pretty much didn't sleep Tuesday night. Too much stressing about how I was going to fit everything in. I don't sleep well when I have a lot on my mind. Correction, I don't sleep AT ALL. So after a restless night I was out the door at 3am in the pitch black and pouring rain and on my way to the LA Flower Mart (aka - Disneyland.) I picked up everything I needed and then from 5am to 5pm, my friend Hannah and I exhausted ourselves making these beauties. Aren't they fabulous?

With all of the centerpieces finished, I borrowed a car and on Thursday drove all 44 centerpieces up to the Terranea Resort on the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes. Have you ever been to Palos Verdes before? What a place! It was an absolutely breathtaking drive, and the resort was magnificent. I'd love to go back and stay at the resort someday. Who wants to come?

:: The Sound of Music Production ::

Small and sweet. These are just two little silver julep cups I made for the Ladies Rooms at the San Clemente Stake Center as they host the Sound of Music for the next 2 weekends. Wish I wasn't so darn busy so I could go and see it. Tickets are still available HERE, so if you get a chance to go, let me know how it is. Oh, and while you're at it, stop in the loo to see my pretty flowers. So long, farewell.

:: Look HOO Turned One! ::

Can you believe my little pumpkin is ONE already? This weekend family and friends spent a wonderful weekend in Arizona celebrating little D and his 1st birthday. Jacki planned an adorable owl party which was a total "hoot!" Enjoy a few pics from the fabulous celebration...

It was such a wonderful weekend and I miss the other half of my family already. Thank you Jacki Lynn for being such a wonderful host and the best mommy to my favorite little nephew in the whole world!
