Last week as I was driving along PCH on my way home from work, I realized it was July 30th...the anniversary of my arrival home from my mission to Canada Winnipeg. I might have shed a tear, or not. I've been home for exactly 3 years. I can't believe it!!! Mostly because I figured I'd be married with a kid or two by now, but whatever. It is what it is and I'm ok with that.
So, back to driving along PCH. I began reminiscing of many bitter(cold)/sweet memories I had teaching the people in the great white north and suddenly my phone began to ring. Unknown number! I still haven't found my blue tooth charger so I was tempted to ignore the call until after I was home and could actually talk on my phone (dumb cell phone law). Instead, I decided to answer the phone and put it on speaker.
The voice on the other end of the phone nearly brought me to tears. It was Sister Stacey Walter, the first success story of my mission! Stacey was the first person I was able to teach and see enter the waters of baptism while serving in Regina, Saskatchewan.
She was calling to tell me that she just finished her 100th temple baptism this week and wanted to share the exciting news. I was so touched. The blessings of serving a mission will truly last forever. I'm still so grateful the Lord saw me fit to serve a mission. I can't wait for the day when I can serve again!

What a neat phone call! Gosh, time flies! I remember around the time you left (being that I was often over at Mark's) and then when you got home and would come in to Maglebys occasionally. Whew, that looks like a cold place for a Cali girl!
What a great story! I think it's awesome that you served. I can't wait to serve one with Justin. :)
just wait until it's be 7 years. thought i'd be married with like 5 kids by now. haha :).
xo
We are all so blessed because of your service! :)
Your reminiscing brought tears even to my eyes, Aubrey! Your mission will truly bless you over and over again in this lifetime and into the next! Isn't it interesting how the spirit works when we have a thought about something and the phone rings and it is just exactly the person or something connected with that person that we were thinking about? I used to think about my mom, and the phone would ring and there she was! Once, I was picking up the phone to call her and she had already dialed my number and it didn't even ring, and there she was! Oh, if we could just tap into that spirit thing more often!
Love you, "forever missionary!"
