Twilight
I saw the movie Twilight last night. Now, before you all go bad-mouthing me, just know that I did indeed read the book months ago and enjoyed it, and while I wasn't ecstatic like the rest of the hardcore Edward and Bella fans, I decided it would still be fun to join the rest of the pre-teen population at the theaters for this historic event. So that being said, I hated the movie. I did. I thought it was weird, awkward, and embarrassing. It ruined the beautiful love story I saw in my mind as I read the book. And instead of being swept off my feet by Edward the teenage hearthrob, I just laughed, pretty much the whole way through. You can argue with me all you want, but I just thought it was lame. Sorry.

Couldn't agree with you more!
Sad :( I liked it! I love that picture though ;)
ha! thanks for the heads up. i'm joining the teenie boppers tuesday. one of my patients told me that the movie in her head while reading the book was so much better. hmmmm, we'll see!
For all you rookies that still think a movie can even come close to being as good as the book...get real! The movie was good...it had flaws but I still want more. Please refer to the blog of Michelle Michel for a real break down of the movie...bottom line...I LOVE IT and am seeing it again..within 2 days of seeing it the first time (ok we are just taking Tricia). We still like you...just a little less...JUST KIDDING! hahaha!!
Love,
The Rodriguez girls
(Jennifer, Kim and Michelle)
We really do still love you!
I totally agree with you girl! I'm all for a teen movie with cheesiness, but I'm not down with bad acting and a bad script. It was like a bad Disney movie to me. And hey, I like the good Disney movies! Just not the bad ones. :) It was worth seeing though right? Just to see what they did. Oh well, at least the books are AMAZING. And I never expected it to be as good as the book, they never are. I just kind of expected it to be good in some way. Oh well. Fun night with the girls anyway...
Karly, I'm right there with you. I knew the movie would never live up to the book. It's just unfortunate though that it had to be so cheesy. I mean, I'm still glad I saw it. I had a great time with the girls (and few boys who read the book and tagged along.) And honestly, I really enjoyed the actress that portrayed Bella. I thought she did a fantastic job!
I saw it Friday night with a bunch of ladies and I have to say I actually liked it. Yes a little cheesy at times, but overall I thought they did a good job with it. I think with the crowd they drew this time around they will be able to make the next films a bit more high budget.
As for the movie it was cheesey at times but overall I really enjoyed it. It has been said but a movie never lives up to a book. oh by the way I have been meaning to ask you. I noticed the Yoder's on your blog role. How do you know them?
That's funny, thanks for the heads up! I'm like you - I enjoyed the books but wasn't a crazed fan. I kind of like cheezy movies so maybe I'll like it!
What made me love this movie was the chemistry between Bella and Edward. I think he was awesome in it. It was cheesy and I had to shake my head a few times, but I loved it and will see it again this week :) Sorry you didn't feel the same!
Umm..I am so surprised so many people liked this movie...I really think it was done horribly and that thye shouldn't have had such a lousy budget. I hope it is redone.
Don't get me wrong, I did read all 4 books. Something about them kept my attention and I really can't put my finger on what that is/was. But I never did buy into the wholee 17 year old vampire love story even when I was reading it. What I liked about the books were how vivid they were and how I could really picture everything she wrote in my mind. So I enjoyed every bit of the movie even the it was cheesy b/c for me it was so much like the book. And I actually liked that they made it funny.
Thank you for being an honest fan. It has receive awful reviews and one of the main things said by the critics is that everyone who is a big fan of the books will be blinded by how awful the movie is. I commend you Aubrey for you honest look at this movie. Me on the other hand I would rather sniff a line of anthrax than go see this movie.
