Happy Trails 2008

What a treat! This weekend for Tristen Ure and Steve Hazy's birthday, a few friends headed down south and hit the open road . . . on horseback! Miss Hobbins did some research and found this fantastic ranch down in San Diego called Happy Trails just north of the Mexican border that offers horseback rides on the beach. Incredible! Here are a few fun pics from our exciting day . . .

The morning started off early as the crew met up at Hazy's for a Cowboy breakfast!

The birthday kids. I'm pretty sure this picture was Tristen's present to Steve!

Tristen was so thoughtful and packed us all a goody bag full of classic candy like Abba Zabbas, Fun Dips, Fireballs, and Bubble Gum Cigarettes.

The Ranch was literaly a stones throw away from Tijuana. It really added to the day's sense of adventure!

Who knew Tristen was such a cowgirl!

I felt a real connection with my horse Midnight. When I was a little girl I would always go to Rawhide Ranch for the summer with my Indian Princess group and my horses name there was Midnight. Lucky pick I guess!

Tess & Mark getting ready to saddle up.

Ready for the 3 hour ride ahead . . .

At times I felt like we were in the jungle somewhere.

The birthday girl serenaded us with country tunes throughout the trip. She loves to make us laugh.

Nice horsey.

The birthday girl. Hammin' it up again.

Pure entertainment the whole way through.

Me: "Why does the beach look so far away?"
Tour Guide: "Because it is."
Me: "Oh . . ."

Riding along the open road.

The U.S./Mexico border. Thats TJ on the other side of the wall.

Yeeeeeeha! We made it to the beach.

Tristen was lovin' every minute of it.

Perfect day for a ride through the sand.

I was in heaven.

I felt like we were on the set of a movie.

Doctor Cardall loving the ocean air.

Our tour guide teased us by galloping through the water. Rude! I wanna do that!

The "fisters" (fake sisters). My favorite shot of the day.

The U.S. Border Partol was set up on the beach with their 4-wheelers and jet skis. We were lucky enough to watch a real live capture of two illegals. So exciting! Definitely a highlight of the day!

I wish they would've let us get a little closer to the Tijuana border but apparently it was too dangerous.

God bless America!

So surreal!

Group shot before we headed back.

What an incredible day! Happy Birthday Tristen and Steve!

Happy Birthday Miss Jones!

I met Briana Jones almost two years ago when she was working on this beautiful Fari home in Shady Canyon. I was so impressed by her talent and love for design. I've always secretly hoped that someday she and I can go into business together and decorate all of Orange County!

Briana, I wish you all the best on your special day! Thank you for your constant friendship. I just adore you! Now lets go party...

Baseball, Bowling & Birthdays . . .

Friday night was AMAZING! Daddy let us take the burb to Mormon Night at the Angel's Game! So fun! We stuffed our faces with hot dogs, nachos, and red vines. We didn't watch much of the game...mostly because our seats were in the very last row of the staduim. Regardless, it was a good game cuz I got to watch Garland pitch. Garland, if you're reading this, "Call me baby!"

Next on the agenda: LA! All the girls piled back into the beast and headed to LA to help one of our favorite friends, Brig Woods, celebrate his 26th Birthday. We did a little bowling (yes, I went bowling 2 nights in a row...AMAZING!) Tessa and I were a team and together we got the winning score of 141 and "totally redeemed myself" after Thursday night's pitiful performance. Thanks Brig for being born and giving us another excuse to party!!!

The BIG 3-0!

Two of my ridiculously good looking friends turned THIRTY this week...

Tuesday night we celebrated Brother Mark Schiefelbine over the hill! We started out with a little dinner at PF Changs and then cruised over to the Villa de Hazy for a "killer" game (no pun intended) of Mafia. Some of my favorite memories ever include Mark and Mafia. He is hands down the best Moderator ever! If you've never played Mafia with this kid before you are seriously missing out. Happy Birthday Marky Mark!

Friday night we celebrated Roselyn into the 30 and up club with some grub at Sonny's in San Clemente. I love me some Margherita Pizza. After dinner we wrapped things up with a little Rock Band at Monti, Craig, and "Sweet Peas" place. I usually just take the lead on vocals but tonight I finally learned to play the guitar and rocked the Bass (on easy...I'm learning). Happy Birthday to you Miss Ashton. I'm so "hot for teacher." Thanks for letting us get our Rock on with you!
